Code of ethics for canoe and kayak users
On the Matapédia River as well as on all the rivers of Gaspésie there are several users, the main one being salmon fishermen.
These users practice this activity either by wading or in a canoe and pay very large amounts to come and practice this fishing either alone, with friends or with a guide.
Having access to it is a privilege and users therefore have obligations and rules to respect among themselves for healthy cohabitation.
Obligations and rules to respect for paddlers;
Warn fishermen of your arrival with the whisle
Never cross a pit in the center if there are fishermen
Always go behind the fishermen or on the opposite bank
Be polite and have good interpersonal skills
Bring back your cigarette butts and your waste
Obligations and rules to be respected for fishermen and guides;
At all times, respect paddler users
Facilitate the passage of paddlers with respect and courtesy
Taxes and Lodge service fees are not included.
